Frequently Asked Questions

Q) How far in advance do I need to book?

A) For peak dates such as May, June or September we recommend you book at least 12 months in advance.

Q) What is the best way to carry my wedding dress for my wedding abroad?

A) The dress needs to be boxed and carried in the overhead bin. The average measurement of this bin is 46 x 35 x 23 cm, but this might change, please check with your airline.

Q) Where do I send our religious paperwork?

A) All the religious paperwork should be treated as if you were going to get married in Ireland. You should contact your local priest who will start your file. Your priest will ask you the name of the church where you are getting married and the name of the priest. This file will be sent to the bishop office of the country where you are getting married. The paperwork should be in the country 2 months before the wedding.

Q) Is my religious wedding legally recognised in Ireland?

A) Catholic weddings are legally recognised assuming that you were registered at the local registry office after the wedding. Our wedding co-ordinators take care of this in each country.

Q) What legal documents will we need to bring?

A) These vary from where you choose your wedding. We are pleased to detail each countries individual requirements, click on the destination links for further details on each country.

Q) Who will look after our arrangements once we arrive at the hotel?

A) You will be left in the capable hands of a wedding co-ordinator, who will be given to you by your Tour Operator.

Q) When will our wedding take place?

A) Usually on a weekday, with the agreement of both the Registrar and the Hotel.

Q) Where will our wedding take place?

A) Either at the Town Hall, the local Church or within the hotel grounds, depending on the destination you have chosen. The wedding co-ordinator will advise you on favourite locations.

Q) Can we arrange a photographer and a video for our wedding?

A In most cases this can be arranged with the wedding co-ordinator

Q) We would like to invite family and friends, is this possible?

A) No problem, many couples like their friends and family to attend their wedding overseas and take part in their special day. This can be arranged by our Travel Consultant and your guest can even stay at a different hotel to you, allowing for your privacy.
