Varadero

Blessed with clear and calm waters, the beach of Varadero is one of the best you’ll find anywhere and with 21km of fine white sand beach it’s easy to see why. Varadero is a peninsula that reaches far into the Atlantic Ocean’s waters with a yearly average sea temperature of approximately 25 degrees thanks to the Gulf Stream so perfect for sun worshippers and water sports enthusiasts alike with water sports abound on the beach; including diving, snorkelling, sailing and fishing.

It is approximately a 3 hour drive from Havana so why not spend a few nights soaking up the lively atmosphere of the capital and then chill out on the beach?!

TOP TIPS:
The Centre Plaza América is popular due to its shopping malls and amusement centres. Should you want to venture a little further than the beach Cárdenas City is a small and colourful area about 12km from Varadero

A firm favourite with families is the Delfinario, featuring daily shows and even gives visitors a chance to swim with its dolphins! The beaches, cafes and parks are all easily accessible and for golfers Varadero also boasts an 18-hole links course affording wonderful views along the peninsula

Please note: with Cuba’s continued economic development it is not at the same level as we have in Europe and some aspects of life in Cuba are very different from what we experience here in Ireland. You must take into consideration that certain standards in services levels and transport may not be what we are accustomed too.

Sunway can tailor make an itinerary to suit your needs. We offer a host of accommodations in both the city and in the Varadero area, from family friendly to adult’s only accommodations with the latter making it a popular spot for honeymooners.
