While the government travel advice remains as avoid non-essential travel and even though some destinations are included in the Green List of destinations, we are working with all our customers to help them with their holiday plans, so please be patient we will be in contact with you.

The safety and wellbeing of our customers will always remain our top priority.

The Green list – things to know

  • Destinations will be updated by the Government at any time
  • Countries can come off the green list if they do not meet the criteria set out by government
  • People returning from a Green List country, do not have to self-quarantine, however they are asked to restrict their movements
  • If you book a holiday to a green list destination and should it come off the green list while you are there or before you are due to travel – we will contact you and offer assistance
  • Please refer to the following link for an up to date list of countries included in the Green List

I am booked to travel to a destination included in the Green List, can I still go?

Government advice for countries included in the Green List is currently to avoid non essential travel, however you may still travel if wish to do so. We will be contacting all customers regardless of the destination they are travelling to and will discuss what options you have.

I am booked to travel to a destination that is not included in the Green List?

We will contact you and discuss your options as you would be travelling against government advice. Travel Insurance may not cover you, so it is essential that you check your travel insurance policy.

I am due to travel from September onwards

A lot of flights are operating albeit on a reduced frequency for September and beyond. If you are due to travel in September we will contact you and discuss all options with you. We will be contacting people in order of travel date, so bear with us we will get to you.
We are prioritising all rebooking’s based on travel date.

I am due to pay the balance of my holiday, but I’m concerned
We will do our very best to work with you in this regard. On some selected destinations we may be able to delay the balance due date. Please contact our sales team regarding your booking.

I want to change my holiday, what do I do?
Depending on when and where you are travelling to, we will assist you where we can but please bear in mind our focus is on September holidays at the moment.

You are welcome to contact our office during our normal office hours of 9.00am – 5.00pm Mon-Fri. You may also email and one of our team will get back to you.

I’m still worried, can I cancel my booking?
If your flight is still operating and you choose to cancel your holiday, then this would be subject to our cancellation policy as per our booking conditions.

I want to book a new holiday but I am concerned I will lose my money?

  • You can book your holiday in complete confidence with Sunway
  • We are an Irish Family owned and operated holiday company, taking Irish holidaymakers on holiday for more than 53 years
  • Sunway Travel is licensed and bonded with the commission for aviation (TA 0731 and TO 101) Do not take chances with unlicensed travel companies

I hope the above information has helped answer some of the queries you may have. Finally, I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the kind words of support you’ve shared with me over the past few weeks. These are really tough times for Sunway and the Travel Industry of Ireland, but we look forward to planes flying soon so we can take you on holidays.

Cities & Parks of the American West

Highlights: Start in Los Angeles on the Pacific coast before going to Arizona to visit The Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Lake Powell and Bryce Canyon. Next is Las Vegas and pass through Death Valley and Mammoth Lakes before entering beautiful Yosemite National Park. & finishing in San Francisco. An extension option of the tour along the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco through Monterey, Carmel, Santa Barbara and finish in LA is available. One Way Car Drop Fee's apply.Day 1: Los Angeles - Arrival
Arrival depending on your flight. Vehicle pick-up at the airport. A first look at Los Angeles and settling in at the Best Western Plus Dragon Gate Inn in Los Angeles four 2 Nights.

Day 2: Los Angeles, FREE DAY
The day is yours. Nicknamed 'The city Of Angels', Los Angeles is known for its cinema, its chic neighborhood's, its celebrities, its legendary beaches and its Palm Trees but also its museums and its shops. You have all the choices in the world. Our advice: It can be difficult to navigate Los Angeles. We suggest to book a half day City Tour with a guide and to complete your experience by visiting Universal Studios.

Day 3: Los Angeles - Kingman, Enroute to the West - (512km)
Today, your destination is Kingman, the historic centre of Route 66. Stop in Oatman a mining village in the mountains, with donkeys walking down Main Street! Overnight at the Best Western Plus Kings Inn and Suites.Day 4: Kingman - Grand Canyon (280km)
Continue on Route 66 until Seligman and Williams before going north towards the world's famous Canyon: The Grand Canyon. Overnight at the Canyon Plaza Resort. Our Advice: We recommend that you let yourself be tempted by one of the most exquisite visits: A HELICOPTER RIDE ABOVE THE Grand Canyon.

Day 5: Grand Canyon - Monument Valley (284km)
You enter into Navajo territory, made famous by the films of John Wayne and many other westerns. Overnight in Kayenta at the Wetherill Inn. Our Advice: You could go on an adventure in a 4x4 and discover parts of the reservoir unreachable to most, an experience that will thrill the adventurous travelers.

Day 6: Monument Valley - Page (195Km)
Arrival in Page, the city on the edge of Lake Powell, Artificially formed by the damming of the Colorado River. Overnight on the lake at the Lake Powell Resort & Marina. Our Advice: Why not let yourself be tempted by an excursion in Antelope Canyon, where the lights dances like nowhere else in the world or a cruise on Lake Powell.

Day 7: Page - Bryce Canyon (240Km)
Direction towards Bryce Canyon, One of Utah's most beautiful national parks. Overnight at the Best Western Ruby's Inn.Day 8: Bryce Canyon - Las Vegas (417Km)
You will go from the calm and serenity of the parks to the excess and extravagance of the legendary city, The Oasis lost in the desert of Nevada, Las Vegas. A city of luxury and excess with its lights, its games, its glitz and its stars that continue to make the whole world dream. Overnight at the Luxor Hotel & Resort.

Day 9: Las Vegas - Death Valley (288Km)
Continue your stay in the west towards the legendary region of Death Valley and its spectacular lunar landscapes. Overnight at the Furnace Creek Ranch.

Day 10: Death Valley - Mammoth Lakes (330Km)
You will take the road of the Sierra Nevada to Mammoth Lakes renowned ski resort. Do not miss either the Mono Lake or the ghost town of Bodie. Overnight at the Mammoth Mountain Inn. (The crossing of Yosemite from east to west is impossible during winter, this step is replaced by Bakersfield).

Day 11: Mammoth Lakes - Yosemite (166Km)
You enter Yosemite by the Tioga Pass (open from May to October). Explore this park with its granite domes, its spectacular lakes and waterfalls. Overnight in El Portal at the Cedar Lodge.

Day 12: Yosemite - San Francisco (306Km)
Route towards the Pacific to reach San Francisco, cultural capital of the American West which has one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Overnight at the Best Western Plus Americania.Day 13: San Francisco.
Free Day. Choose to Ride a cable-car on a steep hill, go to Chinatown, Visit Fisherman's Wharf, see the Golden Gate Bridge, go shopping in Union Square or visit the famous Alcatraz prison famous for Al Capone or enjoy a hop on hop off city bus tour to see as much as you can. Overnight at the Best Western Plus Americania.

Day 14: San Francisco - Departure
Return flight from San Francisco, Return your vehicle to the airport depending on the time of your flight.

Day 14: San Francisco - Monterey (190Km)

Leave for Monterey, a former fishing village turned pretty and fashionable beach town. Our Advice: Get close to sea otters, sharks and many other marine creatures in the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Overnight at the Casa Munras Hotel.

Day 15: Monterey - Santa Barbara (378Km)
Leave for Santa Barbara, a beach town with typical Spanish architecture while passing the coast, one of the most beautiful routes in the world. Overnight at the Best Western Plus Pepper Tree Inn.

Day 16: Santa Barbara - Los Angeles (153Km)
Visit the mission before leaving and take advantage of the Malibu beaches before returning to Los Angeles for your last night at the Best Western Plus Dragon Gate Inn.

Day 17: Los Angeles - Departure.
Return flight from Los Angeles LAX airport, Return your vehicle to the airport depending on the time of your flight
