Cape Town & Winelands

The Cape Province is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful places in the world and deservedly so. Cape Town has one of the most spectacular settings a city can have. Presided over by the grand and iconic Table Mountain, it is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city offering a variety of things to see and do.

Take the cable car up Table Mountain where on a clear day the awesome views are sure to amaze anyone. The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront which is located within the picturesque working harbour offers a great selection of shops including antique shops, art galleries and specialist boutiques, along with quality restaurants, bars, hotels, museums, historic buildings and exclusive access to one of South Africa's heritage sites Robben Island. Robben Island prison is where Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years. You can take a guided tour around the now empty facility.

If you tire of the city you can spend a relaxing day at the beach in the upmarket and trendy resort of Camps Bay and enjoy the many bars and restaurants this exclusive resort offers! You can even go see African penguins on Boulders Beach! The sheltered bays and sandy shores of Boulders is home to a colony of approx. 2000 endangered African penguins and is part of Table Mountain’s National Park Marine Protected Area. As such there is a small entrance fee required to see the little chaps and ladies!

An absolute must is to hire a car or take a day tour if you prefer and explore the beautiful and famous Winelands of Stellenbosch, Paarl or Franschoek. These old world towns offer charming country houses and hotels, lush scenery, gourmet restaurants and a fabulous selection of vineyards open to the public. You’ll find some great local craftworks here too. With so much to see and do Cape Town is a city that can be enjoyed by all and truly makes for a fabulous and exciting introduction to South Africa!
