Bodrum is a town that anchors a peninsula on the southwest coast of Turkey, about an hour by air from Istanbul.

Bodrum is Turkey's Turquoise Coast at its most vibrant. The marina is full of smart boats ready for Mediterranean day trips. The vine-draped, whitewashed, and stone-cut cottages are postcard pretty and Instagram perfect.

The shops, bars and cafes are vibrant and fun. The street markets offer fine leather work and kaftans, hard-to-find spices and piles of dried fruit. Even in October, you'll see piles of peaches, melons, cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes.
