Campofelice di Roccella
Sicily, Italy Palermo
Another of Northern Sicily's hidden gems Campofelice di Roccella lies about an hour's drive from Palermo. Its crowning glory is of course it's 20km pristine beach that hugs the welcoming azure Mediterranean.
The Castle and the Mother Church in the town centre are just two of the must-see sights on your visit. A little beyond the town are the ruins of the ancient Greek town of Himera (destroyed by the Carthaginians in 409 BC). And in the surrounding hinterland, there's lots for the curious gastronome to seek out of Sicily's food heritage. The equally attractive resort of Cefalu is about 25 mins drive away.
Transfer from Palermo airport approx. 60 minutes.
