The Camino Finisterre winds through peaceful rural villages, rolling green hills and beautiful Galician countryside before reaching the rugged cliffs of Cape Finisterre, one of Spain's westernmost points, crowned by its iconic lighthouse. Combining rich history, breathtaking scenery and a rewarding sense of achievement, the Camino Finisterre is a unique and unforgettable walking experience through one of Galicia’s most captivating landscapes.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Travel to Santiago
Make your way to Santiago, home to the iconic Santiago Cathedral and the finishing point for countless pilgrims from around the world. For you, however, this marks the beginning of a new adventure. Check into your accommodation and if time allows wander through the city's charming cobbled streets, lively squares and historic buildings while soaking up the unique atmosphere. Tomorrow you travel to the end of the word.
Day 2 – Santiago to Negreira - 21km
After breakfast, lace up your hiking boots and begin your Camino to the Atlantic coast. Leaving the historic centre of Santiago behind, you'll pass through peaceful villages, cross ancient Roman bridges and follow quiet country paths. Take in the beautiful Galician countryside as you breathe in the fresh scent of pine and eucalyptus forests. Your destination today is the medieval town of Negreira, where you can admire the impressive Pazo do Cotón and discover sculptures honouring local farming women, emigrants and pilgrims.

Day 3 - Negreira to Santa Marina - 20km
Today’s walk is a bit more strenuous but the spectacular scenery makes every step worthwhile as you climb upwards throughout the day. You will climb along the side of the Monte Aro passing the river Barcala. Rural scenery dominates the day from forest, fields and rolling green landscapes. Arrive in the quiet hamlet of Santa Mariña, where you can relax and enjoy a well-deserved evening at leisure.

Day 4 - Santa Marina to O Logoso - 16km
Your adventure through rural Galicia continues. Walk through open fields and green hills, enjoying the views of the of the surrounding countryside and the Xallas River valley, reflecting on the journey you have completed so far. Make sure you stop in the town of Olveiroa for a well-earned snack and to admire the charming Church of San Cristovo de Olveiroa. Your destination tonight is O Logoso passing a historic stone cross that has guided pilgrims along this route for centuries.

Day 5 - O Logoso to Cee - 18km
Today brings one of the most memorable moments of your Camino as you catch your first glimpse of the Atlantic Ocean. Begin by walking to the small village of Hospital, passing the Nosa Señora Chapel, a beautiful example of the region's rich architectural and cultural heritage. Then, as you descend through the pine groves of Alto do Cruxeiro da Armada, the sea appears before you. Your stop for the night is the fishing village of Cee, known for its sheltered estuaries and sandy beaches. Breathe in the fresh sea air and savour the excitement of knowing you're just one day away from reaching the legendary End of the World.

Day 6 - Cee to Finesterre - 15km
Your final day of walking leads you to the legendary Cape Finisterre, once believed to be the 'End of the World'. Along the way, you'll pass through the charming harbour town of Corcubión before following a spectacular cliffside coastline with dramatic ocean views and wild Atlantic beaches. Walking barefoot across the golden sands of Langosteira Beach, as generations of pilgrims have done before you, is a memorable experience. On arrival in Finisterre, take time to explore the town before completing your journey at the iconic lighthouse, where the vast Atlantic Ocean stretches endlessly to the horizon. It's a truly fitting finale to an unforgettable Camino adventure, congratulations!

Day 7 - Return home
Your unforgettable Camino de Santiago holiday has come to an end. After breakfast, check out from your hotel and, if time allows, take a final stroll through Finisterre’s coastal streets. Whether you're heading home or continuing your adventure, we hope you've enjoyed every moment of walking the Camino Finisterre.

Practical Information
- Luggage Transfers:
Your luggage will be transported between accommodations each day, pick up is normally @ 8am.
- Accommodations:
You will stay in comfortable hotels and pensions(guesthouses), providing a restful end to each day’s trek. Each room has their own en-suite bathroom.
- Walking:
Enjoy the flexibility of this self-paced journey. Make stops along the way for a snack and tea or coffee, there are plenty of resting places and toilet facilities on route. Detailed walking notes will be provided as well as a 24-hour emergency phone number.
Most of all don’t forget to take a moment every now and then to admire your beautiful surroundings.
Top Tips
- Prepare a day pack for each morning containing Water, Blister plasters, medication if required during the day, spare socks, raincoat, snacks etc (keep it as light as possible as you will be carrying this one along the way)
- Ensure you pack comfortable, waterproof walking boots or shoes and be sure they are well worn in before your trip. Bring some cash as the smaller villages along the way don’t accept card.
