Itinerary

Day 1 – Travel to Spain

Time to head to the Costa del Sol for the start of our bridge holiday On arrival into Málaga, we transfer to our hotel in the heart of Benalmádena. One of the Costa del Sol’s most popular seaside resorts, Benalmádena is known for its golden beaches, attractive marina and relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere, making it the perfect setting for bridge and bright skies.

After time to settle into the hotel, we will gather to meet Peter Pigot, our bridge host for the week. During this informal welcome session, Peter will outline the bridge programme and discuss areas such as bridge technique, playing partnerships and the overall standard and style of play for the holiday.

We will then come together for a welcome dinner, a?relaxed opportunity to get to know our fellow travellers and settle into the holiday atmosphere.

Day 2- Morning Bridge Lesson & Evening Game

This morning, we begin our bridge programme with an engaging lesson hosted by Peter. Designed to be both informative and accessible, the session will introduce key themes and techniques that will be developed throughout the week. Lessons are interactive in style, combining practical examples, guided hands and open discussion in a relaxed and supportive environment. Topics may include competitive bidding, declarer planning, defensive signals and improving partnership understanding depending on what your group would like.

The remainder of the afternoon is free to enjoy at leisure. Why not relax beside the hotel pool, explore the marina or take a stroll along Benalmádena’s palm-lined seafront promenade

This evening after an early dinner, we’ll come together for a bridge game. This friendly duplicate session offers the perfect opportunity to put the morning’s ideas into practice while enjoying an enjoyable and sociable evening with fellow players.

Day 3- Supervised play & Afternoon Lesson

This morning’s supervised session with Peter offers a more informal style of bridge where we can discuss hands, ask questions and receive guidance throughout play. Peter will circulate between tables offering practical advice and helping players developing your confidence in both bidding and card play.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. You may wish to take the train into nearby Málaga to explore its historic centre, museums and lively atmosphere, or simply unwind by the beach and enjoy the relaxed pace of the Costa del Sol.

Today’s afternoon lesson continues to develop technique and confidence through practical hand analysis. Particular focus could be placed on suit establishment, defensive planning, competitive auctions and common partnership misunderstandings.

Day 4 - Ronda Day Trip & Evening Game

Today we discover another side of Spain as we travel to the spectacular mountaintop town of Ronda, one of Andalucia’s most famous and historic destinations. Ronda is best known for its impressive 18th century bridge, stunning gorge views and traditional Spanish plazas. We will have a guided tour of this beautiful town and some free time before returning to our hotel in the afternoon

This evening, we come together for a friendly bridge game. This relaxed session gives players another opportunity to put your learnings into practice while enjoying the sociable and welcoming atmosphere of a bridge holiday with Sunway.

Day 5 - Supervised Play & Final Lesson

This morning’s supervised play session combines real-time play with tutor support and discussion. Unlike a formal duplicate game, you can ask questions during play and explore alternative bidding or card play options in a relaxed teaching environment with Peter on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Enjoy a final afternoon relaxing by the pool, exploring the marina or soaking up the atmosphere of the Costa del Sol.
