Day 3 - Travel to Sigiriya

You'll also get to spendtime with the villagers, learning to cook localdishes and taking a pottery class.

Day 4 - Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Travel to Sigiriya, home to the 5th-centuryUNESCO World Heritage-listed Rock Fortress,‘Lion Rock'. Explore the gardens, admire theworld-renowned Heavenly Maidens frescoesand pass between a pair of colossal lion'spaws to climb to the top for panoramic views.Then, embark on an adventurous jeep safarion Minneriya National Park, looking out forlarge herds of elephants, sloth bears, leopardsand more wonderful wildlife.

Day 5 - Travel to Kandy

Travel to Dambulla where you will tour theRock Temple which dates to the 1st centuryBC. Visit a spice garden in Matale and watcha cooking demonstration before continuingthrough majestic hill country to the city ofKandy, Sri Lanka's cultural hub. Visit the sacredTemple of the Tooth Relic then, this evening,enjoy a cultural show of folk dancing and music.

Day 6 - Train to Nuwara Eliya

Board a train bound for Nanu Oya, passingthrough endless tea plantations backedby mist-covered mountains and cascadingwaterfalls. Continue to Nuwara Eliya where,this evening you'll take a tuk tuk ride throughthe town.

Day 7 - Explore Nuwara Eliya

Begin the day at the Tea Factory, learningabout the process of plucking, processing andpackaging tea leaves. Then, enjoy a high teaexperience at the Grand Hotel Nuwara Eliyawith freshly brewed Ceylon teas and views overthe hillsides.

Day 8 - Return to Colombo

Ascend from the highlands back to Colombo.Take a tour of the city, visiting the ColomboMuseum, Independence Square, Pettah'svibrant markets and the scenic Galle FaceGreen promenade. Embark on a guided streetfood tour, visiting some of the city's best localfood spots.

Day 9 - Fly to Maldives

Bid farewell to your guide today and transfer with the rest of your group to the airport and fly to the capital cityof the Maldives, Malé. On arrival you will bemet and escorted to your boat transfer to yourhotel. The next few days will be at leisure with no escorted touring involved.
