Alanya Area
Antalya - Turquoise Coast
Situated on the southwest coast of Turkey, Alanya is a town of stunning medieval architecture with a vibrant pulse. Cosmopolitan chic sits easily beside traditional crafts and cuisine. Of course, what Alanya is most famous for is its nightlife, and for good reason. Nightclubs and disco bars are plentiful with the really big venues cranking up from around 11 pm.
In the less frenetic daylight hours, there are two great beaches to choose from; Eastern Beach and Cleopatra Beach. You'll find Cleopatra more suitable for families. The waterfront is great for shopping, dining, and people-watching while the town itself is a charming mix of top-end shops and artisan stalls. You should take the time also to walk up to Alanya's fortress with its 140 towers including the 5 storey Red Tower.
About an hour from the harbour is the wonderful Roman city of Side, which is well worth a visit. It's dotted with Roman and Greek ruins which gives the town a magical air. There's also a fabulous beach if you're going to spend the day.
