Calella

Costa Brava, Spain

Calella is a lively beach resort just an hour away from Barcelona. In common with many other Costa Brava resorts it divides between the Old and New town giving you the chance to experience the modern and traditional in one resort. There's a great deal to see and do in the town if being a beach bum gets too tiring for you. There is a wide choice of eateries throughout the town and along the beachfront as well as excellent shopping. The beach is soft, sandy and very well maintained which earns it an annual EU Blue Flag. If you're not into relaxing all day there's also a wide selection of water sports available.

Calella certainly comes alive in the evening with plenty of clubs, bars and restaurants available to tempt any palate.

And with Barcelona only an hour away on the train Calella is a great base for venturing further afield.
