Ibiza Town
Ibiza
Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Ibiza Town boasts a walled fortress as well as cobblestone streets. The heart and soul of the island, Ibiza Town (Eivissa) is a vivacious, stylish and elegant capital with a magical, fortified World Heritage–listed old quarter topped by a castle and cathedral, set against a spectacular natural harbour. The old town has great views over the port and south across the water to Formentera.
You can also visit Marina Botafoc, the harbour of the town. Here you will find nice restaurants, but also trendy clubs like Pacha, one of the oldest clubs on the island. During the day, there is a diving school here where you can see a wide variety of marine life.
Ibiza Town's leafy squares, harbour-front promenade and warren of whitewashed lanes are crammed with boutiques, restaurants, cafes and bars. Staying in Ibiza Town is ideal for visitors who want to explore, it is a great central base. For party people who want to experience the nightlife the island has to offer but equally want to soak up some history and culture, Ibiza Town provides the perfect balance. Talamanca and Sant Jordi de ses Salines are only a short walk away. There is also a year-round and regular bus service from here.
