Plati Yialos

Mykonos

Platis Yialos is one of the most popular beaches of the island – well deserving of its Blue Flag status. Its popular with visitors who are attracted by the golden sand and the wonderful turquoise crystalline waters. One of the longest beaches on the island, south facing Platis Yialos lies in a protected bay backed by low hills. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for hire as well as organised water sports. Cruise the island by yacht or zip around on water skis. See the area slowly by pedal boat or enjoy the rush of a jet ski. Discover another world beneath the waves on a scuba diving trip or seek out hidden coves by canoe. The night life is far more low key than the capital but there’s still a fair bit to keep you busy. There are traditional Greek nights available with dancing and live music in local hotels. Explore other beaches by hopping on a boat in the harbour to Paradise, Super Paradise and other beaches on the southern end of the island. They go every hour. Alternatively, join one of the glass bottom boat tours that leaves from Platis Gialos and explores the local beaches and coastline.
