Itinerary
Day 1 – Travel to Mallorca
Time to begin our Spanish walking adventure. Travel from Dublin airport to Palma airport and then travel to the Port d’Alcudia, set on Mallorca’s beautiful north coast, beside the beach and close to the historical town of Alcudia. We will check into our hotel the 4 star Hotel Zafiro Tropic & Spa and settle in for the evening.
Day 2 - Cala Bòquer
Today’s walk introduces us to the unspoilt landscapes of northern Mallorca. Starting near Cala San Vicente, close to the outskirts of Port de Pollença, a clearly marked trail leads into the tranquil Boquer Valley. The path begins gently, offering distant views of the rugged Tramuntana mountain ridges as we make our way through open countryside.
The route which then turns rocky brings us to Cala Bòquer, a small, secluded pebble cove with crystal-clear turquoise waters, a perfect spot to pause for a snack, take in the scenery, or enjoy a refreshing swim in the calm sea.
From here, the return route climbs gradually through rocky terrain, opening out to spectacular panoramic views across the Bay of Pollença and the dramatic Formentor Peninsula. We then retrace our steps through the peaceful Boquer Valley, returning to Port de Pollença.
Today's moderate walk of 7.5km is expected to take approximately 4-5 hours with ascents of 390m and descents of 360m.
Day 3 - Castell d’Alaró
This rewarding walk takes us into the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, combining rural landscapes, ancient pathways and one of Mallorca’s most striking historic sites. Beginning among peaceful farmland, the route gradually ascends into oak woodland, passing moss-covered rocks and traditional dry-stone terraces that typify this UNESCO-listed mountain range.
The final section follows the historic Camí de s’Escaleta, a cobbled path once used by traders and soldiers, adding a strong sense of history to the climb. As we approach the summit, the impressive silhouette of Castell d’Alaró comes into view, dramatically positioned on a limestone plateau. At the top, we’re rewarded with outstanding panoramic views across the Pla de Mallorca, the Tramuntana mountains.
Today's moderate walk of 9.5km is expected to take approximately 4-5 hours with ascents of 340m and descents of 600m.
Day 4 - Lluc Valley - Pixarells Karstic Route
Today’s walk begins at the Monastery of Lluc, one of Mallorca’s most important spiritual and cultural landmarks, set deep within the Serra de Tramuntana. From the monastery grounds, we follow paths toward Es Camell and the Pixarells area, immediately entering a tranquil landscape of holm oak woodland, stone terraces and moss-covered rocks.
Our destination is the Pixarells area, a striking example of karstic terrain, where centuries of water erosion have sculpted the limestone into dramatic natural formations, giving the walk a distinctly wild and atmospheric feel.
Today's moderate walk of 11km is expected to take approximately 3-4 hours with ascents of 300m and descents of 300m.
Day 5 – At Leisure
Spend today unwinding after a few busy days on the hills. Relax on the beach or explore the delights of Alcudia. Your walking guide from the day before will be happy to suggest ways to spend your time.
Day 6 - Deià a Llucalcari - Camí dels Pintors
One of Mallorca’s most iconic coastal walks, the Camí des Pintors (Painters’ Path) takes its name from the many artists, writers and musicians inspired by this dramatic stretch of coastline.
The walk begins in the beautiful stone village of Deià, perched above the sea and surrounded by terraced olive groves. Leaving the village behind, the trail follows narrow cobbled paths, ancient dry-stone walls and olive terraces that reflect centuries of traditional rural life.
As the route reaches the coastline, it winds along the edge of rugged steep cliffs high above the Mediterranean, with ever-changing views of turquoise waters and rocky coves below. The combination of coastal scenery, cultural heritage and natural beauty makes this one of the most memorable walks of the week.
Today's moderate walk of 9km is expected to take approximately 4-5 hours with ascents of 350m and descents of 350m.
Day 7 - Cap des Pinar - Alcúdia
Our final walk explores the quiet and unspoilt Cap des Pinar, one of the least visited areas of the Alcúdia peninsula. Formerly used for military purposes, this area has been preserved as a natural reserve, helping to preserve its rugged and untouched character.
The route leads through fragrant pine forests and across rocky headlands, opening out to sweeping coastal views and glimpses of clear turquoise waters below. This peaceful walk offers a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the week’s experiences while enjoying a quieter side of Mallorca, away from the more popular trails.
Today's moderate walk of 13km is expected to take approximately 5-6 hours with ascents of 470m and descents of 470m.
