Experience the beauty and history of the Adriatic on an expertly planned escorted tour to Dubrovnik and Montenegro. This journey combines the splendour of Dubrovnik’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, with its impressive city walls and marble streets, with Montenegro’s breathtaking landscapes, from dramatic mountains to sparkling coastline. With comfortable transport, quality accommodation and a balance of guided sightseeing and free time, this tour offers an ideal way to explore this remarkable corner of southeastern Europe with ease and insight.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Travel to Croatia

We depart Dublin on our direct flight to Dubrovnik. On arrival we will be greeted by our tour leader and local tour guide and then transferred to our 4-star hotel in Becici where we will be based for the next five nights. Becici is a beautiful stretch of coastline on the Budva Riviera. The remainder of the day is free to settle in at your leisure before meeting up for dinner at the hotel. Dinner tonight and every night is at the hotel.

Day 2 - Becici & Adriatic Coast

Enjoy a relaxed morning in Becici, with the option to join a short orientation walk led by your tour guide. The afternoon is free for leisure, whether you choose to unwind on the beach or make use of the hotel facilities, before an overnight stay in Becici.

Day 3 - Kotor & Perast Excursion

Today we take a drive along the scenic Adriatic coastline, stopping in Perast, a stunning Baroque town on the Bay of Kotor, to enjoy a short boat ride to the islet of Our Lady of the Rocks. We continue to Kotor, where your guide will take you through the UNESCO-protected medieval Old Town, filled with narrow alleys, Romanesque architecture and Venetian influences. After exploring, return to Becici for an overnight stay.

Day 4 - Budva & Cetinje

We begin the day with a guided walking tour of Budva, a bustling Montenegrin town renowned for its Venetian walls, charming squares and well preserved medieval Old Town. Next, we take an excursion to Cetinje, the historic royal capital, where your guide will show you the King Nikola Museum, the former residence of Montenegro’s last ruler, King Nikola and the Cetinje Monastery. We then return to Becici via the panoramic mountain road, enjoying breathtaking views over Boka Bay, before an overnight stay in Becici.

Day 5 - Full-Day Excursion to Ostrog Monastery

Today is an early departure as we embark on a full-day excursion to Ostrog Monastery, dramatically built into a cliffside and one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Balkans. Accompanied by our guide we will spend time exploring the Upper and Lower Monasteries, soaking in the spiritual atmosphere and admiring the stunning views. We return to our hotel in the evening for our final overnight stay in Becici.

Day 6 - Herceg Novi & Dubrovnik

Today we have our morning at leisure before departing in the early afternoon for Dubrovnik. En route we will stop in Herceg Novi for a short walking tour with your guide, including time for coffee. We then continue on to Dubrovnik and check into our 4-star hotel in the Lapad area where we will be based for the next two nights. You have the evening free to relax. Dinner tonight is at the hotel.

Day 7 - Dubrovnik Highlights

Today we will enjoy a tour of Dubrovnik Old Town with our local guide, visiting highlights such as the Stradun, Rector’s Palace, Onofrio Fountain, and Franciscan Monastery. Dubrovnik is a stunning Croatian city known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic,". George Bernard Shaw famously said, “Those who seek paradise on Earth should come to Dubrovnik”. The afternoon and evening are free for independent exploration, followed by our final overnight stay in Dubrovnik.

Day 8 – Departure & Fly home

After breakfast we depart by coach to Dubrovnik airport for your return flight to Dublin.
