Memphis Holidays

Memphis, Tennessee, 'Home of the Blues' and the 'Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll'. It has produced musical masters such as BB King, Jerry Lee Lewis, Al Green and perhaps most famously Elvis Presley.

A visit to Graceland, the family home and final resting place of Elvis is a must, it is the second most visited house in America, second only to the White House in Washington DC.

As with many cities in the Deep South Memphis has a strong sense of history behind it; plantations, the Civil Rights Movement and the American Civil War.

Memphis is now an intriguing mix of old and new with old Victorian style buildings sitting alongside shiny skyscrapers and modern malls. Downtown has seen quite the renaissance in recent years. Beale Street is probably the most famous street in Memphis and the hub of activity with its host of shops, bars, clubs, live music venues and restaurants.
