Location

This very traditional, exclusive luxury hotel lies high on a mountain at the end of a landscape dominated by steep cliffs. Guests are able to enjoy a wonderful view over the Bay of Funchal and the beach can be reached in a few minutes on foot. Numerous shopping possibilities and public transport links lie within a few metres of the hotel. The town centre with its various nightclubs and bars is around 1m from the hotel. The airport is about 20 km from the hotel.

Facilities

The hotel was built in 1891. Guests have a choice of 35 suites and 128 double rooms located in a 5-storey main building and a 6-storey auxiliary building. Check-in and check-out are possible at any time at the 24-hour reception desk. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions.
