Bari is a beautiful port city with a charming old town and bustling
harbour. It's also close to some excellent beaches.
There is so much to enjoy and experience in the area. Visit the old
harbour, see the boats arriving from Albania, Croatia, Greece, immerse
yourself in the energy of this world little changed over the
centuries. At the harbour, you'll also see Lungomare
● the imposing
seafront edifice built by Mussolini in the 1930s. It is the longest
seafront in Italy and is lined with cafes, shops and restaurants,
ideal for a leisurely afternoon or evening stroll. Here also is where
the beaches start. The south coast is peppered with perfect sandy
beaches bordering crystal clear waters.
Up above the harbour is Bari Vecchio
● the old town. Over 40 churches,
cobbled streets, ancient piazzas and the Basilica St. Nicholas which
houses the bones of you-know-who. This is a place where the plan is to
have no plan. Wander and experience life as the locals do
● slower.
Transfer from Bari airport approx. 25 mins.
