Alberobello is a charming, picturesque town, less than an hour's drive
from Bari.
It is most notable for its iconic and unique buildings called trulli.
These conical roofed buildings are used for housing and storage. They
give the town an otherworldly air and add to your feeling of getting
away from it all.
The town itself is quite small, but the local shopkeepers and
restaurants create a pleasant atmosphere as you take your daily
stroll, in no hurry at all. The Rione Monti is the 'tourist' area of
the town. But don't let that put you off. The streets are very pretty
indeed, and the shops and restaurants are welcoming but not in a pushy
way.
To really savour the atmosphere and history of this UNESCO heritage
site, we suggest you take the 2-hour walking tour early in your stay.
Transfer from Bari airport approx. 1 hour 10 mins.
