Callao Salvaje

Tenerife, Canaries

Callao Salvaje is a charming coastal village located on the southwestern coast of Tenerife, part of the Canary Islands. Known for its laid-back atmosphere, it offers a relaxed alternative to the busier resorts on the island, making it ideal for those seeking tranquillity while still within reach of livelier areas.

The town has a lovely small beach, Playa de Ajabo, a mix of dark volcanic sand and pebbles, giving it a unique, picturesque look. The beach is family-friendly, with sunbeds, parasols, and a lifeguard, and it boasts calm waters suitable for swimming. Along the waterfront, there's a scenic promenade with a few cafés and bars where you can enjoy a drink or a bite to eat while soaking up the ocean views.

Callao Salvaje also has a good selection of restaurants, bars, and small shops, creating a friendly village atmosphere. For a broader variety of shops or nightlife, the bustling resorts of Costa Adeje and Playa de las Américas are only a 10-15 minute drive away, offering easy access to shopping centres, clubs, and entertainment.

Outdoor activities are popular here, with several nearby hiking trails that provide views over the rugged landscape and ocean. Golf enthusiasts can also take advantage of the excellent golf courses in Costa Adeje, while the nearby waters are ideal for diving and snorkelling.

Thanks to its sheltered location, Callao Salvaje enjoys Tenerife's famed microclimate, with warm temperatures and minimal rain throughout the year. It's a great spot for those looking to relax and experience Tenerife's more peaceful side while being a short distance from the island's attractions.

Transfer time from Tenerife Airport approx. 25 mins.
