Kalamaki is situated on the south coast of the island of Zakynthos, only 5 km from the airport. The area appeals to couples and families alike for its relaxed atmosphere and proximity to the livelier resorts of Laganas and the island's capital Zante Town.

Kalamaki is a tranquil resort known as a critical breeding ground for the loggerhead turtle. It has a 5-kilometre sandy beach that shelves gently into Laganas Bay, and is safe for younger children. To ensure the turtle's safety, areas of the beach are off-limits or have various restrictions during the incubation and hatching season, with water sports completely banned here for the same reason but these can be found in the nearby resorts.

Away from the beach, Kalamaki offers a relaxing combination of traditional Greek restaurants, low-key bars & a good selection of shops. Surrounded by olive groves & peaceful countryside Kalamaki is a popular resort for this and its proximity to the nearby Zante Town for a livelier vibe.
