The peninsula of Vassilikos is the area that goes from Argassi down to Gerakas beach, which is the most southern beach of Zakynthos island. Vassilikos is a relaxed resort ideal for those seeking a truly peaceful island retreat. Here you will find a taste of the ‘real’ Zakynthos, famous for its variety of beaches and lush surrounding countryside, a far cry away from the purpose built resorts.

There isn't a real village with its centre, expect more lush landscape, stunning beaches (some more set-up for tourists than others) & an up-market vibe. You will find traditional restaurants and tavernas & some small shops but essentially Vassilikos is a quiet idyllic spot where nature dominates. Many explore the area on foot or bicycle & there are many local walking trails which guide you through some of Zante’s most picturesque scenery.

However, if you feel like exploring some busier spots, Argassi, Kalamaki and Laganas are close by, and Zakynthos town is only 12km along the coast.
