Thinking of your holiday to Puerto Pollensa? Did you know Sunway offer direct flights from Ireland to Palma de Mallorca airport.
Lying on the north-west coast of Majorca, Puerto Pollensa is a tranquil and peaceful resort. It is set around a sheltered bay overlooked by the stunning mountain scenery of the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range. As with many of the islands other resorts Puerto Pollensa was once a small fishing village. The bay is home to more luxury yachts than traditional fishing boats these days. Puerto Pollensa is mainly popular with couples and families. It’s gently shelving safe beaches are excellent for young children.
There are several beaches and coves in the Pollensa area. The main beach is a great size so you won’t be stuck to find a sunbathing spot. A variety of water sports are available ranging from pedaloes to kite surfing lessons if you’re feeling brave! There is a beach bar on the beach itself where you can buy snacks and drinks and you’ll find a good selection of cafes, bars, shops and restaurants on the street opposite the stretch of beach leading into the harbour and town. At the opposite end of the harbour you’ll find the 'Pine Walk', a pedestrian walkway lined with pine trees and small beaches. A favoured spot for an evening stroll too.
The port is the heart of the resort and you will find most of the restaurants, cafés, bars and shops in around this area. The town is full of charm and offers a taste of the more traditional Majorca. For those looking for a little more activity there is a water park, karting track and mini golf in the nearby resort of Alcudia which is just 10 minutes away.
