Lisbon City

Lisbon, Portugal

The capital of Portugal is the 2nd oldest European capital (after Athens) and has experienced somewhat of a renaissance in recent years, rightfully reclaiming its place as the ‘golden city’ of southern Europe. Its mild Mediterranean climate makes it an ideal place to visit year round. Lisbon is built on a series of hills with pretty views from all angles.

There is plenty to see and do in Lisbon. It has a great natural harbour which attracted many different civilisations in the past, all of which are reflected in its stunning architecture. Hop on a vintage tram to see the sights including world heritage monuments such as the Belem Tower (Portugal’s version of the Eiffel Tower), museums and one of Europe’s largest aquariums. Stop off to relax in one of its many cafes and taste the local delicacies. Lisbon has a very lively café culture and a vibrant nightlife. It offers a huge choice of restaurants serving both traditional Portuguese dishes as well as international cuisine, all of which usually offer good value for money. With a city known for its hilltop vista’s some of the restaurants offer a great view.If late night bars and clubbing is your scene you won’t be disappointed. Lisbon is fast becoming a very trendy city with a buzzing nightlife.

And the cherry on top, well here we go; within easy reach of the city are the sandy beaches of several coastal resorts, such as our featured resorts of Estoril and Cascais, as well as the forested areas of Sintra and attractions like the extraordinary Mafra monastery.

Lisbon is a friendly and welcoming city with an eclectic blend of culture and architecture, with traditional shops, modern shopping centres, culinary delights and a truly exciting nightlife.

Transfer from Lisbon airport approx. 30 mins.
