My Story Hotel Rossio

My Story Hotel Rossio

Lisbon City

My Story Rossio sits in a prime tourist spot on busy Rossio square, between historic Baixa and Lisbon’s main avenue, Avenida da Liberdade. The shops of Chiado and nightlife of Bairro Alto are a short walk away. Rooms are small but full of fun, offbeat design quirks. My Story Rossio offers its visitors a centrally located hotel in an 18th-century Pombaline building on the famous Rossio Square, with breakfast and late check-out. The hotel sign sets the tone, written like a child starting a tale in class: ‘My Story’. This is a playful, contemporary place that flies in the face of the grand architecture outside. In keeping with the ludic mood, the staff is young and cheerful, with a good grasp of English. There are 46 rooms in total, 18 of which face Rossio — the hotel’s big appeal. Ceiling beams and an exposed stone wall give a glimpse of what was here before. First-floor Café Portugal is a lovely place for all-day dining. The morning sun pours in through tall windows facing Rossio, while double-glazing keeps out the street noise. Meals are tasty and well presented, with a good buffet breakfast.
