Another gem, of which Puglia has many, Trani is a small fishing port on the Adriatic coast. It has a charm all of its own and the pace of life will encourage you to take things a little slower.
While you're there you must visit the picturesque port, the wonderful cathedral and the 11th-century church built by the Knights Templar. The Old Town is a warren of narrow streets each one more romantic than the next.
Seafood is obviously a speciality here but there is a wide range of restaurants and cafes to choose from. Trani is situated on the main rail line to Bari which makes it a great location as a base for further adventures in Puglia. Nearby is the Unesco Heritage Site of Castel Del Monte and the smaller village of Barletta.
Transfer from Bari airport approx. 35 mins.
