Drive the famous HWY1 and discover the Central Coast of California. Pass through San Simeon and visit Hearst Castle. Continue along the majestic coastline of Big Sur and you'll arrive at Carmel. Explore the 17mile drive along the Monterey Peninsula before eventually arriving in elegant San Francisco where you'll spend 2 nights in this fabulous city and its surrounding areas, like Napa and Sonoma wine country. Day 1: Los Angeles – Arrival
Arrival depending on your flight. Vehicle pick-up at the airport. A first look at Los Angeles. Our advice: Make a stop at Griffith Observatory (watch the sunset and spectacular views of LA and the Hollywood Hills) Overnight in Santa Monica area.
Accommodation: Comfort Inn Santa Monica – West LA or similar (2 Nights)

Day 2: Santa Monica
Santa Monica is LA’s oldest and biggest resort. Both a seaside town and bustling city, it offers activities for young and old, from beach games and bike paths to art galleries and nightclubs, from shopping and fitness to theater and concerts. Don’t miss taking a stroll at the Santa Monica Pier, Muscle Beach and The Venice Canal Historic District. Overnight in Santa Monica area.

Day 3: Los Angeles – Malibu – Santa Barbara – San Luis Obispo (294km)
This morning leave Los Angeles and drive north along the coast passing through the affluent beach city of Malibu. You will arrive in Santa Barbara, perfect place for lunch. Make sure you visit the beautiful mission Santa Barbara, the largest Franciscan convent in California today, considered to be the queen of the California missions. Continue to San Luis Obispo for overnight.
Accommodation: Best Western Plus Royal Oak Hotel or Similar.

Day 4: San Luis Obispo – Hearst Castle – Big Sur – Monterey/Carmel (219km)
This morning you should start your day early as a long road is ahead of you. Driving north on Hwy1 you will discover the Central Coast of California. Just when you arrive at the little town of San Simeon you will have the opportunity to visit Hearst Castle, a National and California Historical Landmark Mansion designed by architect Julia Morgan. Continue on the road driving through the majestic coastline of Big Sur until you arrive in Carmel, one of the most charming coastal towns of California, with untouched beaches and attractive shops.
Accommodation: Carmel Mission Inn or Similar.

Day 5: Monterey/Carmel – San Francisco (194km)
Don’t miss the 17-mile drive along the Monterey Peninsula until you arrive in Monterey. Walk through the town, particularly the fishing port and Cannery Row, made immortal by the write John Steinbeck. Visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Continue north through Half Moon Bay and you will arrive in San Francisco for overnight.
Accommodation: Best Western Plus Americania, The Good Hotel or Similar (3 Nights)

Day 6: San Francisco
Full day in San Francisco. One day will just give you a glimpse of this fabulous city, one of the most photographed, filmed and documented cities in the world. Visit Union Square, Chinatown, take a stroll down the crooked Lombard Street, take a walk in Crissy Field and take a picture with the famous Golden Gate Bridge. Our Advice, Combine the visit of Alcatraz, the prison famous for Al Capone with a culinary tour of the Ferry Building. This historic hub – re-imagined for modern times is an elegant San Francisco showcase for some of the Bay Area’s best food artisans and features internationally acclaimed cheese, charcuterie and chocolate makers.

Day 7: San Francisco – Sonoma/Napa – San Francisco (73km one way)
Today you can explore the beautiful Wine Country. You will cross the Golden Gate Bridge. On your way you should stop by the picturesque town of Sausalito, with its quaint shops and restaurants. Drive north through the Sonoma wine region which offers over 375 wineries – from wine castles and the winery resort of Francis Ford Coppola, one of Hollywood’s most famed directors, to simple and rustic tasting rooms. Return to San Francisco for overnight.

Day 8: Departure
Return flight at the San Francisco airport depending on the time of your flight. Return your vehicle at the Airport.
