Palma Nova

Majorca, Balearic Islands

Palma Nova is a bustling and lively holiday resort located at the western end of the magnificent Bay of Palma. Away from the beach, this part of Mallorca is also home to many of the major tourist attractions on the island. Traditionally it attracts the young and lively crowd however, Palma Nova does offer a wide variety of activities suitable for holidaymakers of all ages to enjoy.

Palma Nova was one of the first purpose built resorts on the island. The original fishing harbour is still there but nowadays it is home to luxurious yachts more so than traditional fishing boats. The jewels in Palma Nova’s crown are definitely its beaches. 3 beautiful bays; Playa de Palmanova, Playa San Matias and Playa Es Carregador. The 3 long stretches of fine golden sand are all easily accessible from a pedestrian walkway. They are family friendly and offer a wide range of water sports. Off the main walkway you will find plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants and snack bars. Many of the well known fast food brands have outlets here too. You will still find traditional Spanish restaurants in the resort though as well as other international cuisines including Chinese, Italian, Indian and Mexican amongst others.

The Western Water Park in nearby Magaluf is sure to be a hit with the kids. They offer a huge variety of water slides and rides and is a great family day out. The ‘Pirates Show’ is also extremely popular with families. Sit back, have something to eat and drink and be wowed by the spectacular acrobatics and dancing! Or perhaps a visit to the Katmandu theme Park. Magaluf is just a stone’s throw from Palma Nova so all of these attractions can be easily reached. A variety of boat trips and excursions around the island provide further entertainment. Come nightfall there are plenty of bars and discos to choose from.

Transfer from Palma airport approx. 45 mins.
