This season, Mark Warner welcomes Chalet hotel L'Ecrin to the ski portfolio. The 56-room Chalet hotel is located in Tignes Val Claret, the village above Tignes Le Lac. 

The high snow-sure resort of Tignes, part of the 300km of pistes in the Espace Killy ski area is perfect for all levels of snow sports enthusiasts. Chalet hotel L'Ecrin is situated on the outskirts of Val Claret village and only a ten minute walk (or one minute bus ride) to the 5 main lifts at Val Claret. 

Savoie style and charm

The Chalet hotel is built from timber in the traditional Savoie style and oozes charm and luxury inside and out. The interiors are cosy and comfortable with local wood panelling and a large lounge at the heart of the Chalet with inviting sofas around an open fireplace. 

The restaurant is a perfect setting for skiers to re-group after a day on the slopes with small and large group tables available creating a lively, fun atmosphere. 

Twins, doubles, interconnecting and family bedrooms are available all with balconies overlooking the slopes, flat screen TVs and free WiFi access in the rooms. 

Beautiful spa and swimming pool

After a hard day on the slopes, guests can visit the beautiful spa, with four therapy rooms and a range of treatments on offer from massages to manicures. The impressive swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and Turkish bath enable weary skiers to relax and re-energise in a beautiful surrounding.

Accommodation

Warm, cosy guest rooms with embroidered fabrics and carved wood furnishings welcome you. An option of twins, doubles, interconnecting and family bedrooms are available all with balconies overlooking the slopes.

Each guest room has a flat screen TV, free WiFi access, hairdryer, safe deposit box, telephone and mini-fridge.

Restaurant

The traditional Savoie style flows through to the restaurant with small and large group tables available and a lively, fun atmosphere. Guest will also be able to dine in groups of two, three or four as they wish. 

Inside the hotel, you’ll find a warm welcome from our friendly staff . They’ll serve you a full English or continental breakfast to set you up for the day, followed by an afternoon tea in the dining room overlooking the mountains and lake, ensuring there’s plenty of home-made cakes, soup, juices and assorted teas to go round. Afterwards, put your feet up in the bar or lounge, or sit on the balcony and soak up some afternoon sunshine. 

Evening dinner will be 3 courses with wine, the perfect time to reflect on your day on the slopes and unwind. A children's high tea is available 7 days a week for children 12 years and under. 

One evening a week dinner is not served in the Chalet hotel allowing you the opportunity to dine out at one of the excellent local restaurants.

Health and Beauty

The perfect place for weary skiers and boarders to relax and recharge their batteries in beautiful surroundings. The in-house spa has four therapy rooms offering a range of treatments from sports massage to manicures, an impressive swimming pool with swan neck showers and jacuzzi, a sauna and Turkish bath.

Childcare from 12 months to 12 years

Chalet hotel L'Ecrin is a popular hotel for families with the ski slopes 100m away. Childcare at the hotel is available for children from age 12 months to 12 years and is pre-bookable prior to departure.

The hotel crèche is colourful, fun and fully equipped with all the latest toys and books, cots, potties, bottle sterilisers and fridge. There is also a parents kitchen facility for any late night feeds and a free Evening Listening Service which runs from 7.30pm to 11pm allowing parents to relax over dinner whilst the children enjoy quiet time supervised by our nannies with a dvd and a story.  

Ski School

We work very closely with Evolution 2 and Les Marmottons ski schools, who are happy to teach children from 4 years upwards.  Children that are booked into the children's clubs and the recommended Mark Warner ski school will be dropped off and collected from ski school by our childcare staff and from there bought back to the hotel where we provide lunch and afternoon activities (or return to ski school) all supervised.   

For children that are not skiing and are booked into the children's clubs then a mountain of fun and games both indoor and outdoor awaits daily.

Toddler Club (1-2 years)

Our Toddler Club is perfectly set up for this most lively-minded age group. Throughout the day our nannies lay on a busy programme of games, stories, music and art to keep toddlers amused. Weather permitting, there are buggy outings and snow play for the older toddlers. Where possible, we try to ensure that children have the same nanny all week, and we do our utmost to adapt to your child's usual daily routine.

Supervised Lunch and High Tea are included.
6 Full days: 9am to 5.30pm - £285 per week

Mini Club (3-5 years)

Our Mini Club is pure fun! Children will enjoy sledging, snowman building and exciting cable car rides - often with a stop-off for a cup of hot chocolate. The action continues indoors, with a full programme that includes arts and crafts, face painting and games.

If you've a 4 or 5 year old who'd like to combine crèche activities with learning to ski, we can arrange ski lessons* with a Mark Warner recommended ski school* and include our drop-off and collection service provided by our nannies. 

Supervised Lunch and High Tea are included.
6 Full days: 9am to 5.30pm - £180 per week

* Ski school lessons are at an extra cost.

Kidz Club (6-12 years)

In the Kidz Club it's all about action, with the emphasis on having fun in the snow. And if your children also want to ski, they're still welcome to join. Our nannies can take them to our Mark Warner recommended ski school* and bring them back for lunch with the others from Kidz Club.

For non-skiers there's a packed programme of entertainment from sledging, snow sculptures, face painting, games and treasure hunts. Our energetic nannies also supervise excursions such as bowling and ice skating for which there's a small extra charge.

5 Full days: 9am to 6.30pm & 9am to 1pm (Saturday) - £155 per week

Free Evening Listening Service

Our supervised Evening Listening Service is open from 7.30pm until 11pm six days a week and offers a quiet sleeping space for little ones and a comfy area for those who want to watch a DVD and listen to a story. 

Babysitting is available at an extra charge, subject to availability.

Lift Pass Collection Services

Pre-book your lift passes in the UK before you depart for Chalet hotel L'Ecrin and they will be available at the hotel when you arrive, leaving you one less thing to arrange on your first day. Should you wish to pre-book then please do so no later than 2 weeks prior to your departure date.

Tignes Lift Pass

This pass enables you to ski and board the Tignes area. Ski runs include Toviere, Palafor, Chardonnet, all the way down to Les Boisses and Les Brevieres, as well as the Grande Motte glacier on the Tignes side of the valley.

Espace Killy Pass

The Espace Killy pass is valid for all lifts in Val d'Isere and Tignes, plus one day's skiing in La Plagne, the 3 Valleys and Les Arcs. The Espace Killy pass also gives free entry to the Lagoon Leisure Centre with 25m swimming pool with any 2 to 15 consecutive day pass. Perfect for those wanting to explore further afield.

Learn to Ski and Snowboard in Tignes

Skiing can sometimes seem like an elite club!  What with the technical jargon, specialist equipment and ski resorts that sound like they should be in the Chronicles of Narnia, it is slightly daunting for those of us who want to learn. We warmly welcome beginner skiers and boarders with our aim to help you on your way to loving the sport as much as we do. 

Lessons are not just for beginners though, if you are looking to improve your technique or build up confidence, booking lessons on your ski holiday will be the best way.

At Chalet hotel L'Ecrin we are here to help with your ski or snowboard lesson booking. Evolution 2 provide ski and snowboard lessons for adults and children from 5 years of age. Les Marmottons offer morning lessons for 4 year olds.
