While the government travel advice remains as avoid non-essential travel and even though some destinations are included in the Green List of destinations, we are working with all our customers to help them with their holiday plans, so please be patient we will be in contact with you.

The safety and wellbeing of our customers will always remain our top priority.

The Green list – things to know

  • Destinations will be updated by the Government at any time
  • Countries can come off the green list if they do not meet the criteria set out by government
  • People returning from a Green List country, do not have to self-quarantine, however they are asked to restrict their movements
  • If you book a holiday to a green list destination and should it come off the green list while you are there or before you are due to travel – we will contact you and offer assistance
  • Please refer to the following link for an up to date list of countries included in the Green List

I am booked to travel to a destination included in the Green List, can I still go?

Government advice for countries included in the Green List is currently to avoid non essential travel, however you may still travel if wish to do so. We will be contacting all customers regardless of the destination they are travelling to and will discuss what options you have.

I am booked to travel to a destination that is not included in the Green List?

We will contact you and discuss your options as you would be travelling against government advice. Travel Insurance may not cover you, so it is essential that you check your travel insurance policy.

I am due to travel from September onwards

A lot of flights are operating albeit on a reduced frequency for September and beyond. If you are due to travel in September we will contact you and discuss all options with you. We will be contacting people in order of travel date, so bear with us we will get to you.
We are prioritising all rebooking’s based on travel date.

I am due to pay the balance of my holiday, but I’m concerned
We will do our very best to work with you in this regard. On some selected destinations we may be able to delay the balance due date. Please contact our sales team regarding your booking.

I want to change my holiday, what do I do?
Depending on when and where you are travelling to, we will assist you where we can but please bear in mind our focus is on September holidays at the moment.

You are welcome to contact our office during our normal office hours of 9.00am – 5.00pm Mon-Fri. You may also email and one of our team will get back to you.

I’m still worried, can I cancel my booking?
If your flight is still operating and you choose to cancel your holiday, then this would be subject to our cancellation policy as per our booking conditions.

I want to book a new holiday but I am concerned I will lose my money?

  • You can book your holiday in complete confidence with Sunway
  • We are an Irish Family owned and operated holiday company, taking Irish holidaymakers on holiday for more than 53 years
  • Sunway Travel is licensed and bonded with the commission for aviation (TA 0731 and TO 101) Do not take chances with unlicensed travel companies

I hope the above information has helped answer some of the queries you may have. Finally, I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the kind words of support you’ve shared with me over the past few weeks. These are really tough times for Sunway and the Travel Industry of Ireland, but we look forward to planes flying soon so we can take you on holidays.

Situated in the foothills of the Sierra Blanca, Marbella has become one of the most exciting holiday resorts along the Mediterranean coast. Exuding a cosmopolitan atmosphere it has long since been regarded as a holiday playground for the rich and famous, so who knows who you might spot having dinner at the next table! Marbella offers beautiful beaches, parks, gardens, romantic narrow lanes in Moorish tradition, superb shopping, great entertainment, a huge selection of restaurants and trendy bars. All of this combines to make this chic resort an unforgettable experience. The Marbella coastline stretches for 26km and is full of golden sandy beaches. The beaches offer a variety of water sports, chiringuitos (beach bars), childrens play areas, cafes, restaurants, shops and luxury beach clubs. El Faro beach is very popular with families due to its outdoor play area. Nagüeles beach is on Marbella’s ‘Golden Mile’ and next to the Marbella Beach Club. The golden mile goes from Ricardo Soriano road to the entrance to Puerto Banus and is considered to be the luxury end of Marbella. Fontanilla beach is particularly good for water sports and is located next to the port. La Bajadilla is next to the fishing port and is very popular due to its tranquil waters. Banana beach is very popular with young people dues its lively atmosphere and music in the beach bars. There are many more beaches besides the ones mentioned here so you’ll be spoilt for choice. The old town is full of traditional narrow streets and pedestrianized plazas leading to the Plaza de Naranja where the town hall is located. In the renowned Plaza de Naranja (Orange Square) you can while away the hours in the pleasant cafes or do a spot of shopping in the trendy boutiques and gift stores or visit art galleries. The traditional narrow streets and alleys leading off Orange Square are full of more shops, some excellent restaurants and bars. A hub of activity at day or night! Take a leisurely stroll along the promenade which winds its way around the coast for about 6km. It is lined with cafes and restaurants. La Alameda Park is a lovely spot to visit. The gardens are full of tropical flowers, fountains, open exhibition areas and from here you can book your horse and carriage tour of Marbella! There are 10 golf courses in the Marbella area alone and a host more in the surrounding areas. If you want to party there is ample opportunity to do so with glamourous beach clubs, trendy cocktail bars and nightclubs aplenty! Marbella Transfer Transfer time from Malaga Airport approx. 50 mins.
