Located 7 kilometres west of Malaga, Torremolinos was the first Costa Del Sol resort to be developed. Noted for its clean sandy beaches, wide choice of restaurants, bars, activities and facilities for both families and party go’ers. Several public gardens have recently been opened in Torremolinos adding a welcome greener feel to the resort. It also makes for a great base with plenty of excursion opportunities including Malaga, Marbella and Ronda to name just a few places.
Affectionately known as the Costa Del Golf, Torremolinos will not disappoint golfers. There are 4 courses close at hand and many more in the surrounding areas. At the height of the summer season Torremolinos is particularly popular with younger holidaymakers owing to its buzzing nightlife.
Calle San Miguel, a smartly paved pedestrianized street, is the heart of the town. Here you will find lots of shops and boutiques and is always a busy spot. El Bajondillo is the old fishing district and now home to many good restaurants and souvenir shops. It is also where you will find the popular El Bajondillo beach. Other beaches in Torremolinos include Playamar and Los Alamos with the beach areas of La Carihuela and Montemar lying beyond the Castillo de Santa Clara.
The seafront promenade now continues as far as the Benalmadena marina. A leisurely walk along the promenade to La Carihuela will take in some lovely sea views, dramatic rock formations and the old fishing village of La Carihuela with its traditional houses and bougainvillea clad patios. The marina is located in the centre of the seafront promenade, a very pleasant place for a stroll or to sample the delights of the restaurants and bars in it. The marina is buzzing at night time and regarded as one of the best nightlife spots on the coast. If you like waterparks, Aqualand Torremolinos is sure to be a hit!
