Day 1 Lima

Duration: 6-7 hours

Meeting Point: Your Hotel in Miraflores

Finish Point: Your Hotel in Miraflores

Itinerary:
Enjoy a day tour that blends history, culture, and the passage of time. South of Lima lies a famous temple built in honour of Pachacamac or the "Earth Maker", a powerful figure considered amongst gods and worshipped during the Pre Incan era that was believed to have created land and time. Formerly, this temple was the most important religious site found along the central coast of Peru. Today, this archaeological site contains temples dating from four different time periods; allow your guide to fill you in on the historical significance of the ruins. There's also a museum at the site of Pachacamac that has even more historic information about the sites if you're keen.

After the archaeological tour of Pachacamac, stop for an included local lunch at a nearby restaurant. Then continue on to end the day with a traditional Peruvian Paso Horse show. These horses are not only beautiful but known for their smooth gait that makes for an incredibly relaxing ride on one of these beauties. Sit and relax watching the horses gallop by while your guide will teach you the important role these animals have played in the history and culture of Peru.

Note that this Day Tour is operated by one of G Adventures' preferred suppliers and will be a shared service with other non-G Adventures travellers.
